Don't Let The Sing-Off Sign Off

The Sing-Off, NBC hit singing contest is starting to sing its swan song, having announced to not be renewed for the NBC Fall season. After three seasons, each one increasing in size, length and talent with memorable moments of no instruments required, the series has come to a dramatic screeching stop.

Though this may not be the final hurrah in the memories of many of its avid views who regularly watch the series live. They have come out with a petition (here) to save the hit talent show as well as a Twitter account (@SaveTheSingOff), a Facebook account (Save The Sing-Off), and even a website (http://www.savethesingoff.com) to show support and keep the Sing-Off trending. Host Nick Lachey and judges Ben Folds, Sara Bareilles, and Shawn Stockman have come out and tweeted their support as well. Hopefully this petition will revive the falling show and renew it for another season. Let's take a look at why this show is definitely worth saving.

Pentatonix (Facebook, Twitter), the Champions of season three are currently getting ready to release an EP this month which they tweeted to be ready by mid to late May. They have currently been recording their own a cappella videos on their YouTube account (PTXOfficial) making covers of popular songs like We Are Young by Fun and the increasingly popular hit Somebody That I Used To Know by Gotye and are also featured in covers by other YouTube artists. The group which started in Arlington, Texas now, through the Sing-Off, has shown great prowess in the a capella arena and has continued to evolve. Such may not have given them this chance of a lifetime without the Sing-Off.

Many talented groups that joined the talent contest have started to tour and perform concerts and gigs following their fan base and support., showing that a capella is far from over. Previous contestants such as Season 2 Champions Committed (Facebook, Twitter) and Season 2 Finalists The Backbeats (Website, Facebook, Twitter) have released their own album. The Sing-Off has been a platform for people to reach their dreams and bring entertainment to America. A lot of support has come from the audiences who actively follow all these groups.

Now its time for America to decide to save the show and continue for another season.
