Today's Addition - Dara Ó Briain: School of Hard Sums

Their's a new addition to your array of panel shows, Dara O'Briain: School of Hard Sums. It's a largely mathematically based panel game where the host, extremely funny stand-up comedian Dara O'Briain, and a special guest star of the week are thrown fun maths based questions by resident math guru Marcus du Sautoy.

Though at first glance it may seems to be a program avoided at all costs (especially for the mathematically faint of heart), it tackles interesting questions from amusing pub games to age old riddles. Dara O'Briain, who has earned his props by graduating with a Theoretical Physics degree, takes on guest to challenge them to a classic brains versus brawn contest of who can solve the problem more elegantly. Dara of course takes the role of the math nerd taking the abstract route while his guests try to solve it using a more physical manner. All questions though are provided by Oxford mathematics professor Marcus du Sautoy. Having worked with these kinds of interesting riddles before, he wishes to share the challenge and walks everyone through the solution to the answer or sometimes lack thereof. The show also demonstrates not only the use of maths in the problem but the applications of it in real life from logistics to logic tables to even find maximizing the amount of kisses you can get in a disco. All of this is happening as everyone has a cracking good time solving simple puzzles to complex riddles.
